In functional programming, fold refers to a family of higher-order functions that analyze a recursive structure through use of a given combining operation, recombine the results of recursively processing its constituent parts, building up a return value. Map represents an associative abstract data type composed of a collection of key, value pairs. This is exactly what is happening with the cultural scene at the very moment. We systematically and methodically change concepts, mix online and offline life and try to offer an optimal solution for events and cultural enjoyment for all participants. We present interactive art, music & design – for visitors and online guests with artists* on site and around the world.

The videos are perfect for training an AI. However, in the learning process, two AIs are actually trained at the same time. One gets the audio signal and generates an image, the other takes the generated image and tries to decide if it is a generated or original image. This leads to a cat and mouse game, with the AI generating the image trying to create images that are closer and closer to the original, while the other AI gets better and better at distinguishing the generated images from the original – which in turn leads to the generating AI having to try harder, and so on.

It gets interesting when the purpose of use is alienated and abstracted. What happens if we feed the AI music instead of voices? Harmonic piano music, for example, more often leads to the recreation of stereotypically female faces, while bass-driven techno usually resembles speakers with deep voices.

For the exhibition „Painting with Machines,“ we want to involve visitors more in the creative process and have given the AI ears in the form of a microphone. We explicitly encourage humming with different frequencies or holding different vowels and experimenting with the AI. For example, a humming „mmmmmmm“ is clearly different from a buzzing „iiiiiiiii“.

Thanks to a special high-speed camera, a single image series is captured every 4 milliseconds and shifted by exactly one pixel. This happens 250 times a second, resulting in a temporally high-resolution compilation of individual, short snapshots stitched together.

Clonedoor doesn’t demand attention loudly – it captures it by reflecting it.
The moment visitors recognize themselves being rendered in real time, attention flips inward. Watching oneself become an image produces a feedback loop:
look → appear → keep looking.
This turns attention into an active process, not passive consumption. The work exploits a basic cognitive hook: self-perception is one of the strongest attention triggers we have.
